Curves...?
I had done curves a long time ago and decided i didnt like it..and it didnt work (then i realized maaaaybe its because i slacked and never went..hmm..maybe?) but i was waiting at the doctors office yesterday and read an article i ndiane magazine about a 300+ woman who lost all her weight (you know...the *rolls eyes*...EASY way) but she got toned enough at curves that she has very minimal hanging skin. So then i was thinking...hmmm..maybe curves isnt so bad. My question to you..is..do any of you do curves...do you like it? do you feel as though it helped tone your body through this crazy train? Thanks! you're the breast.
Same here. I was a member before surgery.......but didn't really like it...for a number of reasons. Now, I'm thinking I'll join next month. I mean, it's exercise and it works. I have issues with a regular gym. Mostly my own insecurities.....but anyway, I need to work out and rebuild some muscle. Curves is where it's at. Good luck with whatever you decide to do.
I had considered joining Curves after my gym mebership expired but I have heard my doctor and nurse tell others that eventually they would have to stop the Curves curcuit because it wouldn't be enough,so I renewed my membership with my gym.I think a 30 minute workout is okay when you first start out and not used to working out but after a while you will have to up your work out regime
I personally do not like curves... compared to a gym (at least around here) they are more expensive and offer less. Curves here was $35 a month and the huge gym here is only $15-$25 depending on the specials. I like more variety when it comes to working out. Also love to listen to my ipod and not that horrible curves mix - haha! I wondered myself how people lost all that weight doing the same thing day in and day out... typically to get toned and stuff you need to switch it up and do different levels of weights etc. I also never really felt like I worked out when I left. Thats just me
I did Curves for about a year and a half (I even worked there and loved it!) a couple of years ago and lost 97 pounds through doing Curves and low carb dieting (before my wls). Of course I was working out almost everyday (particularly easy when you work there and your job is to train new members!), but it really worked for me. Once I left there for a higher paying job, I stopped going as often and BAM the weight came right back on. I LOVED Curves, especially the people I got to know, it was a pretty tight knit family of 600 women! We all supported each other and you always had someone to talk to! I also loved knowing exactly where to go and what to do next after each exercise. At the YMCA, I found myself overwhelmed and intimidated and it just didn't work for me. I liked taking water aerobics at the Y, but I'd rather just pay for each class and go as a non-member when I wish. I plan to join Curves again as soon as I can start safely on the machines, as I am only 11 days out and have just been walking on my Gazelle.
Also, for those of you who don't like the music - You can bring in a CD for Curves to play, and they should if the music is fast enough to work out to and not offensive, also if they do have one particular CD you like, you can request they put it on when you come in for your workout. Members did this a lot when I worked there and I always obliged them!
