Okay, so I had my RNY on 8-15-06, and have since gone from 301 to 224 lbs. My 5 month surgiversary was a couple days ago, and I have stalled in a big way. I'm only losing about 3-4 lbs in a month. If that. I am doing the water loading, starting really paying attention to vitamins and protein, and am still lost. My skin is slowly starting to sag, and my hair is really falling out. I need to know if others have had this problem, and what you have done to get back on the horse. I can't go see my dr, cuz I haven't got insurance at the moment. I do plan on starting the working out more on Monday, and that should help (right???). I am eating better, trying to make my 2 snacks and 3 meals count (I get close to 35-45 g protein just from food each day). But I'm noticing that I can eat more and more, if I don'****ch it. Is all this normal, cuz I'm starting to wig out big time, that I'm failing and a freak!!!

Calm down and take a deep breath. If you get your water and protein in you will lose weight. The exercise will help, but I can't harp on that b/c I struggle myself. We also have to look at the "big" picture. Stalls are a normal part of the weightloss process. My surgeon told me to picture our weightloss as a staircase, with drops in weight AND times of "adjustment" (stalls). We would like to think that we should picture it as a downhill slope (constant loss), but that's not the norm. How long have you been "stalled?" I know for me I would freak out with 1-2 weeks of of no (or little) weightloss, but my body would adjust. Not sure if I'd helpd at all but hang in there. Mandy 332/218/155

the weight loss does slow down, i was disapointed when i stopped seeing big numbers gone from the scale too. but your body needs time to catch up!!! it does become more work from this point on, you can eat more... you can eat things that you wish you couldn't.... and you may or may not be exercising. at least this is the case for me!!! i found that by making small goals and working towards them helps me stay on track. ( i.e. my goal to loose 20 pounds by X doctors appt. in X months ) sounds way easier then i need to loose 60 more pounds, or whatever it may be.... the only other advise i have is keep getting your protein in, stay away from carbs ( they are evil!!! ) and make sure you getting your fluids, and try and exercise ( i know its hard!!! ) if you do all this the weight will come off!!!! you can do it!!!!
