Courtney, Don't have any advice since I'm not post-op yet. Just wanted to say Hi and I'm glad everything went ok. Take care, Shanna

Hey Girl, welcome back. The pain really will get better every day, eventually you feel back to your normal self. As for liquids, the theme is slowly but surely right now, I remember my first week Post op I didnt want to have ANYTHING to do with water or liquids ( I still cant stand to look at broth) but I just sip sip sip all day long and got it down, it is going to be VERY hard to get down all the water and liquids that the doctor asks you too, I know I couldnt, I was averaging about 30 ounces of water and about 10 ounces of broth a day I was afraid to tel my nut and Dr, but they said its normal not to get it all in, but they just need to see that you TRY, I have heard stories of people, who after surgery didnt eat or drink because they didnt feel the need to, those people ended up very sick! They want to get you in the habit of drinking, even when you arent thirsty, because if you are THIRSTY that means you are already starting to dehydrate. So enough of my rambling....just remember slow and steady wins the race, drink slowy, but constantly all day long.

Courtney, Im so glad everything went well for you. When I first got home I didnt want to do anything but sleep. As far as getting in my liquids... I lived off of water, crystal light, and sugar free jello. The thought of broth sent me over the edge. Anyway, once again, I'm glad to hear everything went well. If you have any questions..Im here for you. Take Care, Courtney

The first week is so hard but truthfully my best friends were sugar-free icepops and water. I too cannot even look at broth still to this day, 4 months out! Your taste will also change. Mine did! Good luck with everything!! ((Hugs)) Chrys
