Hi, so this is only my 2nd time posting... and my last post would have been probably a year ago.. anyways so this is my problem, I am getting close to my 1 yr ann (feb 21st) and im soooo sad that I am not down to goal or down more anyways. I have lost 65lbs started at 245 and I am down to 178, but I would still like to lose another 40lbs at least maybe even 50lbs. i do exercise, i do eat mostly right, however i can eat sweets and i also have started this eating at night... i know i shouldn't. soooooooooo will i ever lose the rest of the weight? any suggestions, what works for others? im so sad and frusterated at the same time. - lindsy

Sorry to hear you are having a hard time! You are still in the window of having the surgery work for you so yes you can definately lose the rest of the weight. Its good you realize you are falling off track (i.e. eat "mostly" right) so now its a matter of getting back on track! Try "going back to basics". Keep a food journal (fitday.com is a good one) make sure you are getting in your protein/water in EVERY day. Keep track of your calories, fat, carbs. Focus on exercising EVERY day (even if its just 20-30 mins!). Think back to when you were first post-op and gung ho and try to get some of that same determination back. Are you going to support groups? I find they help keep me motivated. Not only do I get motivation from other peoples success its great to be congratulated by your peers for how much youve accomplished yourself! I can also eat sweets. I can eat whatever I want. Its a mixed blessing. I am almost 7 months out and have gotten sick or dumped once. On one hand its good because I dont have to worry about getting sick when out and about but on the other I have to have more control over myself because theres nothing to stop me from eating whatever I want. I found I started to get a little off track with the snacks and bad eating so I just had to cut them out again. Certain foods I cannot have a taste of or enjoy a little because it turns into more and more. Other foods I can have a little taste and not care about having it again for months. I keep the foods I cant say no to out of the house and try to avoid them as much as possible - out of sight out of mind! Anyways, good luck to you and I am sure you can reach your goal!
