Best tasting protein powder or RTD?
Hi all, I've just been looking into some of the protien powders on the market. My NUT gave me some samples of Unjury unflavored and strawberry. Also she gave me some Nectar Blastin Cherry. I tried that one and it was pretty good mixed with my sugar free Tang!
I was wondering what all of you use? Any suggestions? Does anyone get the Sams Club brand? Is the powder better than the ready to drink?
I do like chocolate and I saw one that had chocolate banana(can't remember the brand). I also liked the fact that the cherry wasn't thick, but I'm not against thick. I'm going to purchase one of those magic bullets to make it easy on myself also.
I should be looking at surgery in January from what it looks like but would like to get some different ideas so I can have some on hand.
Thanks in advance!
Shanna
Just a heads up ... Be careful how much you buy! I went out and bought Isopure Juices pre-bottled before my surgery to "stock up"(at that time I loved them!). When it was time for me to start the protein after surgery, I HATED the juices and had to go out and buy something completely different. It is very good that your trying things now though!
Isopure Dutch Chocolate is really good!!
Just make sure that anything you get is low or zero carb!
Good Luck!! - Chrys
Thanks!
It make sense for your tastes to change after surgery . I thought I'd have enough for like the first 2 weeks after in some small amounts of different kinds.
That nectar cappuccino latte sounds fab ! I'll have to try that one since I have to give up my Starbucks!
Thanks for the replies!

If you like Starbucks then seriously try the Nectar Capp latte
You can buy a small sample at www.vitalady.com
That is where i Buy mine from.
I actually still love the isopure juices... after surgery I couldn't handle anything with the least bit of chunkiness or graininess to it, and the isopure juices look and taste like gatorade, but a tiny bit thicker. Apple Melon is rockin'. I also used to like the Nectar protein iced tea flavor mixed with low-sugar lemonade. I've yet to find a 'creamy' (chocolate, vanilla, milky-ish) kind that wasn't chunky or vitamin-tasting.
I'm totally going to try the cappuchino tho... that sounds awesome! Where do you all buy these lovely things?
Kate,
The Isopure juices sound really good. I think I might like the juices better than the thick stuff. Apple Melon sounds great, I will try it and let you know!
I checked out Vitalady.com and will have to order from there soon. I'm just waiting for my insurance to approve my surgery before I spend any more money on stuff I won't need until then!
I go through days of being nervous and then a lot of days I'm so excited I can't wait. I'm sure that's normal. I'm more nervous that my insurance won't approve me. No real reason, just don't want to be disappointed.
Is it normal to sort of keep to yourself after you've made the decision to have WLS? I feel a little withdrawn(not depressed) just maybe that my mind is racing with thought of the surgery and the change it will make in my life. I feel like my mind is elsewhere.
Last month I started my own soy candle company to keep myself busy both now and to give myself something to do after surgery other than eat! I must say it's going very well! I'm having a blast since I love candles and my hobby is paying for itself!
I am glad this forum is here, it gives me a lot of inspiration! Thanks for listening!
Have a great night girls!
