Once you move to more solid foods you will notice a difference... I found once I moved to "soft foods" eating was such a challenge that I lost my hunger at that point. I am 4 months out and every now and then if I wait too long to eat I get hungry.

hi maris, its probably not really hunger .. you're most probably thirsty, i learned the difference quickly ... we often mistake thrist and dehydration for hunger good luck purree

to be honest, when i was first out, i thought i really was hungry too. but it was a combo of bordom with my restricted diet (chicken broth is NOT satisfying or even tasty beyond the first sip), thirst and head hunger. it took me more than a week to tell the difference. regardless of what's causing your hunger, big deal. when you're hungry, eat. but eat/drink a small amount of protein (as if you could otherwise) and wait ten minutes. do you still feel hungry? think about it for a second. try sucking/chewing on some beef jerky, drinking more liquids, chewing gum (i love gum) or even a sugar-free mint. have you eaten eggs? softly cooked they went down really well for me and sustained me a long time. hunger isn't the enemy or something to be avoided. just don't let it rule your life. and not to scare you or anything, but due to our younger ages, the whole-not-feeling hungry thing that usually lasts a year for most WLS patients is much shorter. i started feeling hungry at the 6 month mark. and a little over a year out from surgery i def. feel hungry. so look at this as an opportunity to build healthy habits and reasonable responses when you feel that way. just don't panic.
