Hi everyone, I am wondering if sagging skin happens less for young people. Have you guys had problems with saggy skin?

OH YES! Strech marks are strech marks - they are never gonna go away and if you have them, then plan on your skin hanging a little in those areas. I am sure it is "better" in us younger people because are skin is more flexible and hydrated... it still sucks though.

P.S. How did your psych eval go - have you decided on a surgery type yet? I struggled with that for about a week or two. My mom wanted me to get the band because it wasnt permanent and could be removed if I had comlications. I told her if I lost weight - I didnt want it removed. Then I met people with the band that really didnt lose that much. I just decided if I was gonna do it - then I might as go all the way - I chose RNY.

It has been a really hard decision, but I am going to have the band. I still think RNY is a great option, but there are a lot of reasons why I am choosing the band over other types. I don't feel really strongly about it like most bandsters, it's just the little things that pushed me on one side of the fence vs. the other. My psych eval is tomorrow! I am nervous that they will push my surgery back because I am going to be honest with the therapist (duh I am an emotional eater, let's be realistic, most of us are). Anyways, I talked to her on the phone and she seems really nice, someone that I can be totally comfortable with.

Hey there. I think the sagging skin does happen less when you're younger, but I am starting to get it a little in my arms. There are exercises you can do if you have that problem. Don't worry about your psych exam. I was such an emotional eater before and I was completely honest and I was approved without a doubt. Good luck and I hope you get to the losing side soon!!

I won't lie to you....I look like a sharpei dog when I'm naked. However, I look fricking FABULOUS in my size 8/10 clothes. I'll take being skinny with a little bit of excess skin, over the skin being filled with the 110 lbs of fat it used to have in it. Plus, I've always wanted fake boobs anyways. Hopefully I'll get my chance

yup, there is saggy skin with weight loss, even for us younger ones. but think, 100 lbs. down - what's a little stretch mark or extra skin? yeah, it bothers me, esp. now that i'm a size 8/10 and i'd probably be a 6/8 without the skin but that's what plastics are for (if you're really concerned about it). i however am vividly recalling how freakin' exhausted the RYN made me and i'm in no hurry to slip under the knife anytime soon. but here's a secret that's no surprise - IF YOU LIFT WEIGHTS, YOU WILL HAVE LESS SAGGY SKIN! seriously, everyone (including me) posts about how worried we all are about sagging skin but we can do something about it. channel that anxious energy into some weight lifting, targeting the abs, thighs, and triceps where you're most likely to have skin gather and you will see a difference! i've been lifting for the last two months and have really noticed a major change (for the better) besides overall health improvement. i'll admit i waited until i was within 15 lbs. of my goal weight and had slowed down on the weight loss before i was motivated enought to get to the gym. now i hope i never stop! but i would recommend starting much sooner than i did, say like when you're 50 lbs. down or something. because if i had been lifting for the last 6 months instead of 2, i'd be so much more toned by now! don't type about it, get out there and attack those muscles! (okay, that's enough of my endorphin-fueled contribution to the discussion)

After seeing the difference that the weight lifting made for Kari, I got religion about it too. I'm only 53 pounds down, but I'm lifting weights like mad! Plus, it makes me feel great. As Kari can attest to, since I've called her under the influence of endorphins.

LOL, I'm a member of the Flabulous club lol! I have lost 180 pounds (393 starting) and have lots of skin on my inner thigh, and belly along with my arms. But hey... its not toooo bad lol. I've used the Olay Tightening lotion since the beginning... I can't tell you if it works or not lol... but I LOVe the way my skin feels and it leaves little flecks of glitter
