Drain removal

I just want to know when they remove the drain tube on a Lap rny...I am hoping before I leave the hospital.

Depends on your surgeon and how well you are draining. Typically in my area they remove before you leave the hospital. I have read in other areas surgeons leave it in... check with yours and see what he likes to do!

Everyone is different. I think I had mine in for a week. Got it taken out at my one week post op visit. While it was a slight annoyance, it really wasn't that bad to have it in. I just had to be careful when showering with it. Otherise I safety pinned it to the top of my pj pants and I was good to go

eww! i never got one, thank god. i've read about it, it sounds kinda nasty. but i imagine i'll have the experience if/when i get plastics. ugg.
