Hi Guys, I'm pre-op right now.. and I am just curious if you guys ever get rashes under your arms and below your breast area because of the weight. Have never really talked to anyone about it.. Hope ya'll are well!

Hi, I'm pre-op too and yes some people do get rashes. I have gotten a few under my breast. They are a type of yeast infection and are pretty normal with overweight individuals. What you can use to clear it up is Desitin, Vitamin A-D ointment, or really anything that you can put on diaper rash. I prefer the vitamin A-D ointment becuase my skin is very sensitive and it's a salve. Also, you can use baby powder when it's really warm out so your bra and clothing don't rub and exacerbate the problem. Good luck, you'll be fine! meegan

Yeah, man. I heard about this too. This one dude who was pre-op had a rash between his thighs and much to his suprise, the doc said it was yeast infection. Yikes. So don't worry. You're not alone. -Zedrick

Well hun the worst thing is that post-op it gets worse! Now dont get me wrong it is completely worth it. I am 11months post op and down 60lbs. My stomach is a very flabby area and I used to get weekly infectious rashes under my tummy. My solution before my glorious tuck is Gold Bond medicated powder. The key is to keep the area dry always. I haven't had any rashed since I started using it. Keep up the great work! Chantel

Well the one positive thing to having rashes is that once you are a couple years post-op and want to get a tummy tuck, if you can have your doctor document the rashes than your insurance might cover a portion (but not all) of your tummy tuck. So something to consider.
