Hello Everyone

So I finally signed up for OH after reading all the posts and getting to know all of you after months. I'm Courtney, i'm 23 years old.. I have been considering weight loss surgery for a couple years, but only made me decision about 2 months ago. I'm almost 300 pounds and I'm tired of being large. Of course you can all understand. Both of parents passed away under the age of 45. I need to be healthy, I need to live longer than that. I finally went to my PCP to propose the idea of the surgery to him. and he was 100000% supportive! I was so excited! He said he'll do whatever he has to. Unfortunately, my insurance doesn't cover it, even if it is medically necessary. I'll figure out a way to pay for it. This is so important to me, and I understand how hard it is. I'm ready to be the new me. Just wanted to introduce myself! All of you are doing an awesome job! :)

Hi Courtney... Welcome!! I know you'll find all the support you could ever need here, and then some. You should check out the self pay forum for some ideas with getting the funding for the surgery and good self-pay docs in your area. Good luck Dana
