hello

Hello everyone......not really a new member.....i guess new to this board...i didnt even know it exsisted..lol. I'm gabi 23 yrs old, and am getting banded on Sept 8th. I am very much looking forwad to my surgery! I have started today on my Optifast diet....its going ok.....feeling a little bit of hunger....but nothing to bad. Gabi

welcome gabby! is this a doctor-supervised diet you're doing? like they want you to loose weight before surgery?

Hi Kari.......ya the dr wants me to do this before the surgery so that my liver can be as clean as possible before surgery.....meaning that there be no fat in it. If i remeber correctly the dr said that when they do the surgery they have to move the liver out of the way and if its too fatty it will bleed and it can lead to complications......so thats the reason for thie Optifast...and i'll lose some weight too.

I wish you all the luck on in the world on your journey! I know I'm not looking forward to the optifast diet, but thats just a little bump in the road
