My consultation yesterday...

So, they concluded I'd be a good candidate (I already had an inkling) but they want me to lose about 30 lbs first for safety sake. He said he wouldn't NOT schedule it, but he would rather me just for safety. I'm a little disappointed, but I would rather go in stronger than weaker. I have an appointment in one month with the surgeon and also a vascular surgeon. They may put a vent in my leg veins that would stop any clots that form from getting to my lungs (because I had a pulmonary embolism earlier this year). So I think the clot thing scares me the most. But all in all, I think I can lose the weight...i mean, what is 30 lbs at my size anyhow? So in one month, hopefully I'll have lost the weight and can get an actual date...everything else seems to be in line.

Hey, Kristi. Congratulations on the consult. At least you just have to lose 30-pounds. I gotta lose 50. =*( That's true what you said though, about going in stronger. You have a better chance that way and the surgeon needs as much room as he can in there. So the more weight you lose the better. It kinda sounds weird like it defeats the purpose of the surgery in the first place, but really, losing a little weight before is good for y ou. I believe in you! It's just mind games. Head battles. I lose 25 or so pounds so far and the surgery isn't even scheduled yet. We can do it! Zedrick

heh, maybe you can yell at me like an army drill seargent or something and keep me on track. I'm sure we can do it, it's just going to be difficult.
