grrrr!!!

Hello Everyone... It's been a long time since I have posted. I really need some support or something. Today I was DENIED for surgery. I am furious, heart broke and just tired of all this. I started my journey in January. I had the Echo, Psych eval, sleepy study, (and I Do have sleep apnea) plus I did the 6 month medical diet. I Anyway, to say the least I am feeling really down. Anybody that has experience with the apeal process please help me!! I need some advice here. When I called today the stated it had something to do with my 6 month diet but did not give me an exact reason. I only lost 5 pounds.

Man, that sucks. I didn't have to appeal so I've got no advice to say other than hang in there and don't give up! In some ways, I think those that have to work hard to get this surgery are better prepared and more committed than the rest of us. So use this as fuel and preparation mentally. And keep trying!!

I was denied 3 times and appealed 3 times and was *finally* approved on my final appeal. Did you receive a letter in the mail yet stating exactly what the issue was? If you havent you may want to see if your surgeons office already got theirs and they can tell you. Could be something simple like a documentation issue... dont know until you get the paperwork. Just keep your head up and appeal whatever denial they gave you!

I was pretty furious when I was denied the first time too...when I went for the appeals meeting, it only turned out to be the fact that my insurance company did not have copies of my 6 month supervised weight loss (which I had done). So, my surgeon send copies and solved the issue... But, 2 weeks later I was forced to change insurances. I was approved right off the bat with the new company. Hopefully your issue will be easy to solve...I agree, don't get too upset until you see the paperwork on why you were denied!
