Holli, You can do this! You know that the benefits of not smoking outweigh the benefits of smoking. Try chewing sugar free gum, or eating sugar free candies. My mom quit smoking, after smoking for 20 years, and this helped her immensely. Don't give in! -Brook

Thanks Brook! I just keep reminding myself "I CANNOT have surgery if I CANNOT stop smoking!". Three days down from smoking, 40 days until surgery~ Holli

I had to quit smoking for surgery also. Let me tell you, NO cigarette is worth not being able to lose 90+ lbs in 6 months You can do this!!

I was a smoker for 12 years. I absolutely LOOOOOOOOOOOOVED smoking. Last year I came down with the flu and I couldn't smoke while I was sick. It wasn't from a lack of trying though. I convinced myself that smoking made me sick and decided that I wasn't going to smoke anymore. I still want one even after 7 months of not smoking. I don't know what's bigger, my addiction to nicotine, or to food! I've quit before using the patch, but my friends smoked, so I soon started smoking again. So I would say stay away from smokers and chew lots of gum...or try the patch, it worked for me.
