Preparing for surgery 7/24 Plz Help!
Things that I found helpful were:
1. Your own pillow
2. Slippers
3. Comfortable clothes for the trip home
4. Socks
5. Book/Magazine
6. Camera
Things for when you get home from the hospital:
1. Chicken/Beef Broth
2. Sugar Free popscicles
3. Crystal Light (find at least one flavor that you like)
4. Sugar Free Jello (again with the flavor thing)
4. Make sure your room/house is clean so you don't stress about it when you get home
Good luck!
To the hospital I brought my own pillow, chapstick, face wipes, face lotion, hand lotion (Im a lotion queen!!), shoes to walk around in the hospital in (my mom is a nurse at the hospital - said do NOT walk around in socks - if the hospital gives you socks throw them away before you leave - eww germs!!) and something comfy to leave in. To prepare once I got home I bought everything I would need for the 2 week post-op liquid diet... I bought a ton of protein samples so I could find out which one I liked instead of wasting money on a whole can! That was pretty much it. Only thing I didnt have that I wish I had was pants that were drawstring/elastic. I couldnt wear jeans for 2 weeks and had one pair of elastic pants... this time of year was hard to find anything that wasnt capri length!!!
