The Waiting Game! We all "Love it!"

When I started this journey towards WLS, I was expecting a much smoother ride. Why? Because I am self pay... no insurance crap to deal with. Instead I find myself facing a different set of oppositions... my original PCP turned out to be a liar and is now under investigation for possible insurance fraud. My second PCP that I was referred to as a "doctor who works closely with my surgeon" per one of the nurses was almost completely on the wrong page as to what needed to be done! Then I found my perfect doctor, she looks over my record and then talks with me for almost 60 minutes about my weight and other issues... then says, "I see mention of wls being suggested. Have you considered WLS?" I was sooooo happy to hear her say it. I was like yeah, that's part of the reason I'm here! My follow up will be tomorrow with her to go over blood work and woman tests. Then I'm gonna get her to write me a letter of recommendation just in case some how the faxes *disappear* from the fax machine at my surgeons office by some strange magic. LOL I was ready for this procedure in April... bloodwork came back good, ekg, and chest xray but couldnt go forward because of my first PCP's lying.... So here we go again... hoping and waiting that July will be the month!

Good to see you are keeping your hopes up! Dealing with Drs offices can be frustrating - even if you are self pay! Took me from Sept to April to get my surgery date which seemed like forever! Just have to keep those hopes up and eventually it will all work out for yah!

I was self-pay too. I got approved in two weeks by my surgeon, I didn't even need a PCP. His name is Dr. Tobin Schneider. All I had to do was talk to two of his patients, a dietician, and psychologist he recommended. My next meeting with him, he gave a date for the surgery for a week and a half later. Hopefully, you find someone like him over where you live.

The nurse at the surgeons office has finally let the words I wanted to hear slip from her mouth... "... get you a surgery date." I just need to get the recommendation letter from my doctor (which I will get today if all goes well) and have it faxed over
