New Here

Hi Everyone, I'm relatively new to the message boards here at OH. I'm 29 yrs old, 5'3" and 234 lbs. I currently don't have any comorbities besides depression (if you can call it a co-morbid), but I can see them coming on in the near future. I'm currently in the process of getting my referral from my PCP. My PCP submitted the referral last week and I'm hoping that I am approved to at least see the surgeon. I think I'm going to go crazy with anxiety because of all the waiting around. Well, I just wanted to introduce myself and get aquainted with my fellow OH members. Wendy

Welcome welcome girl I feel yah with the anxiety... I was fine until I received my approval letter... I was soooo excited. Then I called my surgeons office and the first surgery date they had was 2 months away! *dies* Talk about anxiety! Thankfully I only have one more week left to wait I didnt have any co-morbities either (by my insurance co's standard). I do have varicose veins and a fatty liver (its not enlarged) but thats it and I got approved! Just keep hope alive and try not to be too anxious it can be a loooong process sometimes! Hopefully it will wizz by for yah! ~Jennifer

Hey Wendy... I'm at the same place in my process. I just had my PCP submit a referal to my insurance on Thursday...my prespective surgeons office said it may take up to two weeks for my insurance to approve the visit. *Crosses fingers that this goes quickly for both of us * It's only been 5 days but I already feel like calling the insurance company...lol. I know how you feel about the anxiety. I'm in the same ship. =) Dana
