Daily Menus
I just had my 2 year anniversary. I am down about 175. In the last 2 months I have gained about 5 pounds. This is a result of poor eating choices and stopping exercising(I was in the process of graduating school, moving back home, changing jobs, etc and just put this on the back burner)
My biggest problem right now is grazing. I still don't feel hunger, but the mental hunger has returned. I snack quite often. The only good thing(not really good I suppose) is the stuff I usually graze on is stuff that is low fat, light or fat free but it still has those calories. I find that I eat when I'm bored or think that I should be eating. I'm committed to getting myself back on track. I was doing really well the last few months and then just slipped off and stopped caring. I think that right now, I can eat more then I have ever been able to and that scares me a bit. I restarted my diet or watching what I eat today, I"m still not getting nearly enough protien or water, but I'm working on it.
breakfast
granola bar and 4 oz of yogurt
lunch
weigh****chers meal
rice krispie treat
snack
granola bar and bran cereal
dinner
healthy choice pizza
grapes
snack
orange
In between, I grazed on cereal and with my orange I had a slice of pizza. Tisk. tisk. I did go to the gym today and did 2 miles on the eliptical and 2 on the tread mill so I'm feeling a bit better.
Hey there,
I refuse to do anything like protien drinks I eat between 3 and 5 small meals a day, depending on how hungry I am. I also make sure that I get in at least 120 oz of water a day. Its very important to me. I take 2 600mg Calcium, a Hair-skin-n-nails vitamin, and two teen vitamins a day. I also ALWAYS make sure that if I have any caffine, I drink twice as much water to replace it. Caffine sucks the water right out of your body.
As far as sample things that I eat..
I've got a few staples that I eat on and off. No real order to how I eat them.
*1 cup home made chili with lots of lean hamburger and 2tbsp sour cream
*1 can tuna, 2tbsp light mayo, pickles celery and mustard.
*1 1/2 cups Greenbeans and Turkey Ham - this is a great home created recipe that I love and is full of protien and veggies
* 2 small eggs with turkey ham
* 2 Fat free hot dogs and cheese
I do my own version of a chef salad full of veggies and lots of meat on top. I really like grilled chicken or ham.
I try to keep things really balanced so that I don't feel like I'm eating too much of any one thing.
If I feel the need to snack I never have an issue with allowing myself one or two pieces of sugar free candies, jus****ch the fat in them. I also really love string cheese and beef jerky.
I'm also really big on chewing gum, I know some people say its a no no but it tricks my mind into thinking I'm eating. Whcih I can honestly say helps me from munching.

Hi Mary- Kate! I am 1 year post op. This is what my daily menu includes:
am- Protein something- either a shake or hard cheese. Mostly it is 1 1/2 string cheese or two baby bell cheeses
Lunch- Salad, maybe 1/2 cup or 2/3 chicken wings, or tuna salad, around 1/4 cup.
I do eat carbs at lunch at times, if so I eat 2/3 pieces of sushi or 1/2 a quesadilla are my favorites
Snack- More cheese, or beef jerky, sometimes a granola bar (reduced sugar) or a south beach bar
dinner- Very small servings im not a big dinner eater, lunch is my biggest meal
something high protein again, anything with lots of chicken, pork or beef or cheese. I try to eat all my meat and then if some room is left I sample some rice or potatoes, or a very soft thin piece of bread.
