Hi everyone! -131 here :)
hey norma,
you look great and should totally post more photos! the slimmer i'm getting the more i like my pictures!
so just out of curiosity, what did dr. lourie expect you to loose on your surgery? he's my doc too and we started out at similar weights (i'm about 7 months out and down about 80 lbs).
so you're a size 7 now at what weight? (just fantasizing about where i might end up a year out from surgery).
take care,
kari
Hey Kari,
Congrats, 7 months out
Dr. Lourie never gave me a "goal weight", he always said that everyone's body and weight loss was different, etc. I started at 265 and now I'm 134 (I go from 132-134). My ideal goal would be 125, but not sure I'll be getting there anytime soon since I think my body LOVES 134 I'm 5'6" and would lose about 2lbs each week (consistently) for the first year.
I need to get myself a camera in order to get good pics of my own. The only pics I have up are those that friends have taken of me! I'll make it a point to put up more pics, even my pre-ops and progress pics.
xoxo

Wow, congrats, it's people like you who've inspired me to go ahead with the surgery. I had my surgery May 1st (1 month ago) and I've lost about 50 pounds now. Most of the weight loss I've experienced came from the first 2 weeks, but I'm losing quickly again, now that I'm becoming more physically active. Just after playing one softball game on Memorial Day, I lost 5 pounds.
Congrats on your success
50lbs in one month, wow!!! Yeah, the first few months it is an awesome sight to see the pounds drop so easily and fast. Just do the right things, right decisions, and keep yourself on track. Don't pick up any bad habits that will only savotage you in the long run. That's what gives your body the best results. We all can "get away" with things, but the first few months are crucial, that's why they call it the honeymoon stage. Overall, just take care of yourself and you'll do great.
