Had Baby (9 Mos ago)

I had a baby 9 mos ago i had WLS 7/13/04 my daughter is very weak she dosn't want to crawl or even turn on her side doctor did hip X-ray it came back fine. Dr thinks when i was pregnant i didn't get a foric Acid because of WLS.Anybody Know anything that would help

I am so sorry to hear that your little one is so sick. I hope that she gets so much better quickly. I would post this on the pregnancy board. They might have a good idea of something that can help. I really hope that there isn't a problem that cannot be fixed.

I too am a mommy, so I can sympathize with your angst. But I would really recomend a second opinion. I have researched quite a bit and I have not hear of that particular deficency in WLS patients. Some docs are just not educated on WLS and will jump to conclusions. Especially if this opinion came from your baby's doc, I can't imagine that he gets to many of his own patients going through WLS. I hope that all is well, but definately seek out more medical advice. I am amazed that the doc did not tell you what you could do you help your little one. I hope she is better real soon.

I just finished a class with a huge emphisis on pre-natal development and I learned alot about folic acid deficiencys in new borns. I would get a second opinion to make sure youve covered all the basis and ask your pediatrician what you can do to help your baby. Im sorry this is happening to you!!!!
