I am almost 3 months post op from having a lower body lift, inner thigh lift and a Brazilian butt lift. Loving the results, I was a self pay, it cost under $10,000 including my airfare. Check out my profile for my review of my surgery and my post op pictures too...

The body needs to convert D2 to D3, which is inefficient when you can get D3 directly. The doc might prescribe an oil based pill (D2) in high dose for you, which will be partially malabsorbed, but a dry formulation absorbs much better, and it doesn't require a prescription at all. You can buy them (50,000 iu) on Amazon or vitalady.com. The brand name is Biotech.

Low vitamin D is a fact of life after RNY.
Get the prescription D capsules from your doctor. You will need a prescription. You will also need to test again in three months. Before taking the capsules pierce them with a pin or needle. Then take them with a warm liquid.
You will see good results in three months, but the D levels will go right back down unless you permanently stay on the dry vitamin D.
Work with your doctor on this.

I've had bounce back, too, and it is scary not knowing if or when the scale will stop going up.
The first time was about a year or so out. I got under 100 lbs so it was a good thing but still scary. I settle at about 105 for a few years and then about a year ago the scale started going up again.
This time I settled right at 110. It's not the weight gain that bothers me as I know I could afford a few pounds, it's what it does mentally to see the scale go up and the fear that it will be like every other time I lost weight and regained it all back.
I looked honestly at my eating and saw that my eating wasn't out of line. I still avoid sugar and gluten. I wasn't really eating more, although my capacity for food varies a lot day to day. Some days I feel like a bottomless pit and others I get full after a few bites. Same as always, so I knew I wasn't really eating more.
I decided to just see where it lead me and, like I said, it stopped after about 5 lbs.
I have a number in my head that I would like to stay under and if I hit that number then I will decide if I want to eat more or weigh less. Right now I just stay accountable by weighing myself regularly so I can catch any regain before it becomes out of control.
Realistically I know that as long as I don't go back to eating the way I did before I should be ok but mentally there is always the fear that I will suddenly gain all my weight back. After all, I do have history in regain after WLS. But I also know that my regain was totally due to what I was eating. It wasn't a mystery as to why. So at least I know what not to do now.

I am 10 years out also and have almost gained all my weight back. I went to a bariatric dr. recently because I was having so much trouble with GERD after eating and drinking. I went for the Upper GI and they found that my pouch had reattached itself to my old stomach and a fistula had formed. The pouch is leaking in to the old stomach. My insurance approved it in a days time and now I am being scheduled for a revision. Please make sure you have everything checked out just in case you you may have something going on inside! I am very happy and feel blessed to get a second chance. This is considered a mechanical failure and wouldn't be anything that was done to make it happen.
Jessica, Check BOTT group. Sometimes it is what you eat and how much - to offset the gain.
Good luck.

I had a tummy tuck/panniculectomy in late April ($5600) and just had brachioplasty (arm skin removal) and mastopexy with augmentation (breast lift and implants) two days ago ($11,000) and am very happy with the results thus far! Considering the thigh surgery, but I'm seriously okay as long as the other stuff is good. The recovery time for the tummy tuck was about 3-5 days and I was back to teaching 7 days after the surgery. I'm able to type and carry on pretty normally following the surgery I had the other day, but reaching is a bit hard (scars run from my elbows to armpits) and my chest is a bit sore as the implants were placed between my muscle and bone. I'm figuring this time next week I'll be back to normal-ish behavior. I run as well and did my second half-marathon 7 weeks after my TT. I plan to get back to running in about 4-6 weeks, or whenever my surgeon gives me clearance. Good luck!! :)
Your doctor can prescribe vitamin D in a 50,000 iu pill taken once a week. It is more easily absorbed than the over the counter stuff and is actually the correct formulation. Best wishes. :)
that pill is also oil based and most ppl don't have enough intrinsic factor in. Their sleeves/ pouches to be able to absorb it ,so you are just peeing it down the toilet.
