Please can someone help us get back on track with sound advice - how do u shrink your pouch if it's stretched out without surgery..
I haven't been on here in a long time but I thought that I would post an update... so my beginning weight was 330lbs I had the VSG on Nov. 15th. 10:18am woke up and recovered so quick my surgeon was surprised... I which positions at my job the week after I returned to work... I went from a sit down 8hrs a day job to a walking non stop for 8hrs. I lost 120lbs in 6months I was averaging about 8miles a shift and eating my three meals a day I remember my portion sizes were about 1.5oz depending on the type of meat I was eating... but anyways the weight came off life moved forward. switched to another department after the weight loss where I know deal blackjack and I think I look good doing it... :) I met my current boyfriend in oct of 2012. We have been together ever sense I knew that I wouldn't have met him if I hadn't lost the weight... I wouldn't be ok with someone that was ok with me being that weight.. I don't care if your the healthiest person in the world 330lbs isn't healthy.... I've had my hurdles to jump (was off work for two months and gained 10lbs) but I lost it when I got back to work it did take about a month and a half almost two months... but now me and my boyfriend have a place of our own, a giant dog, two good jobs, and a lot of hope for the future... don't ever think that you wont be able to have the life you want... just do it! I always say that if your thinking about getting it done just do it... its been the best decision I have ever made...

I know gastric bypass and rapid weight loss in general can cause gall bladder problems. I had the RNY almost 11 years ago. I have noticed over the years that I sometimes get a sharp pain in my abdomem when I am putting on pants (lifting my legs) and at other times I get a pain in my side similar to what you'd feel if you had held your pee for a long time even after I had already gone. Lately, I'd say over the past year or maybe 2 years, I've gotten tight, spasmic like pains in my upper abdomen or a tight feeling in my chest below the ribs. No OTC heartburn meds help. Sometimes it lasts only minutes, other times for hours. It always seems to start after eating. Its been happening much more frequently and staying for much longer periods of time in the past couple months. I googled the symptoms and came up with gall bladder issues which I hadn't thought of but as soon as I heard that, I remembered about the gastric bypass sometimes contributing to that. I am going to the regular dr tomorrow to ask about it (I've moved several times since surgery and have been out of touch with my GB dr for many years). I was wondering if anyone else developed gall bladder iissues this long after surgery?
hey all,
I just starting taking some new vitamins. I got them at walgreens, and they are for folks who have had bariatric surgery. You take 4 chewables a day.
I noticed that I am very hungry since I starting taking them.. is that normal? do vitamins make you hungry?

I hit the local drug store when they have a buy one get one free vitamin sale. I use the coupons that print in their store for more discounts. By couponing I'm able to get my vitamins very cheaply.
I'm three years out from Roux-en-Y gastric bypass. The first few months after surgery I vomited a lot. Then it stopped and I hadn't been able to actually vomit since. Some days I can almost eat normal portion sizes (not over eating) and some days I can hardly eat at all. There were times when I dry heaved like crazy but no vomiting. This last weekend I started to get very nauseated and actually vomited. Suddenly foods that were "safe" before are making me sick. It's like someone hit a reset button on my surgery. :/
I just lost (well pulled) 1 year ago and I'm 11 years post op. I never had issues until this last year and a half. Good luck
