I was diagnosed with Sinus Bradycardia in 2009. I had gastric bypass surgery in 2006. Scheduled consultation for Panniculectomy this month (October 2014) and must disclose the information to surgeons. I agree with previous posters. I was obese for most of my life. Heart rate is probably trying to adjust to new weight. I am hoping that the low heart rate will not cause any difficulties. Deemed asymptomatic by regular physician, I take no medications and a pacemaker has not been needed.
Wow. You guys ARE good! Thank you. I realized I was eating pretzels with SALT. Soups with HIGH Sodium, and what I thought was a healthy Anti-Pasto Salad with Lunch Meats - ALL high in sodium! No wonder I've gained weight, I've been retaining water weight. This forum is SO educational! And it teaches us that we have to learn HOW to eat. Even with the surgery which many have said-"is only a tool"-we have to re-educate ourselves in eating properly. As one poster said "they operated on our stomachs not our brains"
Thanks for responding. Yes that is exactly what it felt like. The soreness has subsided thank goodness. The zNorco helped ttake the edge off. That is what I suspected that it was an adverse reaction to the anethesia. I just cant wait to have mushy food on Wed. I have all my meals planned out. I cant wait to fast forward through this and be where you are. It is challenging, but I keep telling myself that this will pass. You look fabulous by the way. Thanks again for the support.

I just wrote a blog post that says a lot of the same things.
I felt like I got hit by a truck for the first 2 weeks. It was terrible. I was sore. All over. Anesthesia does weird things to your body - random pain can be one of them! http://www.mayoclinic.org/tests-procedures/anesthesia/basics /what-you-can-expect/prc-20014786
After the first 2 weeks I started feeling better. The first 3 months suck. No sugar coating. It's hell for awhile. Then you start getting energy and feeling good. Your life starts to change little by little. It's worth it. It was the right decision for me. I would do it again in a heartbeat, but the first 3 months were anything but easy. 3 months of hell for a life of living well? I'll take it!
Yep... water weight, salt in diet (watch the lunch meats), poop, for women time of month, muscle building... it's frustrating. It made me crazy to look each day so I stopped and went to a once a week weigh-in... most weeks I was pleasantly surprised and it kept me in a better frame of mind. Be prepared for stall... many of those some as long as a month may happen too. My worst one was -80 pounds thought I would never get to -100 sat at the same weight or gained a pound for a month. Finally boom scale kicked in again (did a big gardening project used some different muscle groups and made sure my protein wa****ting Dr' recs) went on to lose -158.
Best wishes to you!! You have given yourself the best advise... keep on keeping on.

My first pregnancy was as soon as I hit my goal weight. It was very hard to get on the scale at the OB's office and see the weight gain.... but I knew it was because I was making poor food choices and letting it pass because 'i was pregnant'. I 'failed' my one hour glucose test so they spoke with my surgeon and they thought it best to NOT put me through the 3 hour test and just treat it is if I had gestational diabetes..... I had to do fingersticks 4 times a day... ALL were normal. I hat to go to weekly OB appointments. My pregnancy was all normal.... I delivered a healthy 7lb 6oz baby girl 11/30/2012. Post baby, I am having issues because of the poor choices I am making and I am nearing the 200lb mark, but I am on the right track to fix that.
