Hi, I had a RNY procedure on October 25, 2004. I weighed 345 lbs. I got down to 255 pounds. Slowly over the years and making bad food choices, I am back at 300 pounds. My feet are swelling again, I'm getting headaches again, just feeling awful. I live in Maryland and my surgeon relocated to a new area that I can't get to. I don't drive. I still can't eat pasta and rice, but I can eat everything else. My eating is HORRIBLE! I also have these horrible pains in my stomach, pockets of air. The severe pain lasts for a few seconds to a minute and then it goes away. I don't know what to do anymore...
Any advice? Any help?

I had open roux_y in 2001. 2 years later I gave birth to twins. since my surgery I have gained back over 80lbs. I have had several edoscopy procedures all of which shows my exit is stretched but my pouch is still very small. when I eat my tummy feels empty after about 25 minutes. I say when I eat because I do not eat a lot. This is what is so confusing and frustrating. I didn't go through all of these 13 years ago to have this kind of failure. I had an additional ednoscopy today and the dr. said my exit is stretched into an oval/oblong shape. He said this is something he doesn't go in and fix surgically. Any suggestions? I am so upset by all of this! I never feel full when I eat. I haven't since after I had my twins. I am so afraid to eat because I don't want to get back to my presurgery weight of over 400lbs. Seems no matter what I do I am not losing weight.

Your posting this here is very encouraging.I had RNY in 2011,i successfully reached 215 pounds, just now i have weighed myself,i weigh 250 pounds. very dissappointed in myself, since my dd passed away in february i have found myself not caring about myself very much.I am going to call my doctor and see if there is overeaters annonymous group near me.Hang n there. the first step i realizing a hange must be made.Does anyon have any ideas on merestarting my weight loss?shoul i do the 5 day pouch test?does it work?

Yes I talked to my surgeon. All my labs came back normal and he didn't seem concerned for clots. I feel 100% better now. Thank you!

Not sure if you've been checked out. Sounds like blood clot symptoms to me. You need ER and ultrasound of those legs my friend.. If it goes untreated they can break off and cause pulmonary embolisms clots in the lung/lung. Best of Luck Healthy travels!!

Thanks for posting your question. I've lost about 120 pounds and recently saw a plastic surgeon for a consult. He's recommending me for a tummy tuck and breast lift and estimates I'll be scheduled in April/May.
I've been watching lots of YouTube vids about procedures - both pre and post op. If you haven't done so you might find some of that info useful.
