How cool is this? A year and a half after my surgery, I bought a black and gold dress to wear to our office Christmas party. (size 12) I just pulled it out of my closet to try it on to wear to a wedding on Friday. It fits. Something I wore in 2008 fits me in 2014. This, my friends, is a miracle.

WLS 5/31/07. Maintaining a weight loss of 141 pounds and feeling amazing!
i just had my surgery and was reliced from hospital today and my Surgeon started me on multivitamin with iron 3x daily and calcium 2x daily and vitamin D3 2x daily ... plus he said he will start me on b-12 shots in 2 weeks ... I also don't take any pill with out talking to my doctor first...
I am about 29 months out and I have gained 10lbs and really kicking myself for it. We really just need to concentrate on the basics and go back there. I have a friend who is in the same position.
You're definitely not alone. I had a 45 pound regain before I got back on track. I did NOT do it alone, though. I went back to my WLS support group and also to Overeaters Anonymous. Eventually, I saw a nutritionist to figure out the food side of the equation! I re-lost the 45 pounds plus a little more. We still have this remarkable tool. We just have to go back to using it the way it was designed to be used.

I had VSG on 8/22/14, I guess now that I'm on solid foods a craving for a piece of fried chicken I gave into. I don't puke constantly, I thinks its just that I need to slow down and eat slowly. that is what I have learned the hard way with reading everything and talking to the surgeon. I was just wondering if anyone else had this issue. And thank you I shouldn't give into a craving for anything fried. Today I started back tracking of protien intake and really making sure I get my 64 oz of fluid in. I had slacked off and now back on track and I really think this will help my brain and stomach to get on the same page.
You have exactly the right info from Valerie G. One additional note -- I take the dry D 50K DAILY. Always freaks a new physician, but keeps my labs good.
You already have a good handle on what happened. Just remember that we have modified our bodies for LIFE. Both living LIFE fully but also for duration of LIFE. Even after goal reached, you need to stay alert to what your mind and body are doing. Your journey does NOT end with goal -- it is just a signpost along the way.
It's worth the effort -- I climbed Mt St Helens at age 61, and recently hiked the Great Wall at 66. And still going strong!
Just an extra comment about the iron -- (most everything else looks OK to me)
It's more expensive, but I have had good success with heme iron (ProFerrin Forte in my case). It is absorbed better than the plant-based iron. I know that many folks don't think that it is necessary, but I am a patient who tends to drift down with iron levels to the point that I need infusions every few years -- so anything that can stretch that out helps. So far iron has been good for several years.
FYI -- I'm 7 years out with DS.
What surgery have you had? Have you talked to your surgeon? Why are you eating fried foods at all?
