Just low carb diet works for me. I eliminate any starches, dairy and most fruits. Proteins, fat and veggies. Fruits - only berries, and that not every day.

I have a water pic, but rarely use it. What exactly is alkaline water? Is it distilled water or is it something that you can buy? It's worth a try.

No, I never had any vomitng at all. I had a really smooth recovery..never any problems with the exception of the osteopenia. I am on a prescription Vitamin D that I take once a week and my levels have always been good.

I've had a water pik-type device that attaches to your shower head for years. Really helps with plaque and gums. I bought it off Amazon. Do it daily while I shower and no mess.

Yes, drinking acidic drinks softens your tooth enamel and if you brush after it softens it's easy to damage the enamel .
This is true. I have never had really good teeth in that as a child, I had many cavities. But they are so strongly set that 2 dentists refused to pull them for dentures. I have been told by my now dentist that I have spent too much emphasis on brushing and brushing too hard so have been advised to use a soft bristle and only up to 4 times daily ( I do 3).
Hi...10 years out from RnY at Syracuse Univ Hosp with Dr. Simon. Day of surgery I weighed 345 and at my last doctor apt I weighed in at 170. No matter what happens in the future, every day living like a normal person has been a blessing. Linda GA (formerly in upstate NY.)
Excessive brushing specially after drinking acidic drinks may cause more damage than good. It is not a good idea IMO. But rinsing the mouth with alkaline water...and using gentle water pick instead of brushing its great idea. (Based on my dentist and research i did)

Hello I had my weight RNY in 2004. I lost 130 pounds. I have slowly regained about 35 to 40 pounds and weigh about 235. I am curious if anyone has tried any of these medications for weight loss or anything else that has helped them. I wonder about absorption of the medications too. Or if yu have any new ideas that I maybe havent thought of to get myself back on track.
