It is true! You won't remember a thing.  The anesthesiologist came, I remember that, when I woke up I was in recovery.  Piece of cake...really!!!

Topic: RE: Needing a re-boot

I'm in the same boat- I had my surgery Jan 2011, lost 123 pounds, but have been going back and forth between those 23 pounds. I'm really uncomfortable and my clothes are tight as I'm at the top of the 23 pounds again. I know I need to get back on track- part of me is resisting because the last diet I went on with my hubby was this year right before our wedding. We did the 21 day fix- their diet plan and no simple carbs at all, including alcohol, and exercising to their tapes every single day. We did it for 40 days and I lost 12 pounds. He lost 25!  It was brutal and I thought I'd feel awesome, but I was exhausted all of the time. I think it was too much exercise and not meant to be done so long.

As of 1 week ago, I've since gained it all back. I just need to re-focus and do something not so extreme. :)

I would say definitely track what you eat and do it throughout the day so you can head it off if getting too high in calories towards the end of the day. Limit simple carbs.

Switch your focus on something other than food, or have a cup of hot tea to see if that helps.

Limit alcohol. I've tried eliminating completely, but it just makes me pissy when I know I can't have something.

If anyone has any ideas on exercise videos that are less than an hour, focus on weight loss and easy on the knees, would love to hear!

could be.  I've read that calcium being leeched from bones is a known problem - it stands to reason that that could be the cause of (or a factor in) some people's dental problems, too

For me, I think this is related to my PTH always being slightly elevated. I think the calcium is leeched from my bones, and from my teeth.  I could be completely wrong, but that's what I believe.  By the way, calcium levels mostly always show up normal. It's the PTH that you need to be concerned with.

Topic: Profect Protein Bullets

I had surgery several years ago and need to get back on plan.  I would like to use the profect bullets again but can't find them anywhere.  I used to buy them from the doctors; however, they no longer sell them.

Any leads on where to purchase them?

Topic: Made an appt for the referral for the endoscopy...nervous

I'm a nervous wreck! I go in on Friday for the doc to give me a referral to get the endoscopy. I've tried to read everything I can on the procedure. It says you won't remember a thing..hmmm. I remember when I had my DNC and they gave me Valium and said "I wouldn't remember a thing"..I did and still do I just want to feel better and be able to sleep through the night peacefully without worry. I've been very lucky with my surgery and haven't had any complications or problems so I guess my card is up. I'm glad to have my plumbing checked out tho

I haven't had surgery yet but have been really concerned about this, so I asked my dentist about it when I was there last week.  He said he hasn't seen this in his practice (although I doubt he has many WLS patients), but he thought there might be something about or related to the surgery that causes more acid to be present in the mouth.  He suggested a prescription toothpaste that's really high in fluoride.  You use it before bed and just spit the excess out - as opposed to rinsing it out - and your teeth get a fluoride bath all night.  He said this and regular flossing should  prevent it if it's due to acid.  He went ahead and wrote me a prescription so I could get started right away.  Hope this works....

Check with your surgeon on some pcps he can suggest.  I am in Seattle and cannot imagine seeing a pcp that is not intune with my WLS.  Wishing you all the best in your search.
