Topic: RE: What looks different now?

If you have tried ALL the diets and still consider WLS = OK. I tried everything and tried it again, just to make sure. My heath was failing and I was stuck at 285. HBP, type 2 diabetes, GERD, sleep apnea, bad cholesterol, and my kidneys were getting bad from the insulin I had to take for the diabetes. Depression was a part of the over weight condition too. I wasn't getting any younger and I would loose a few pounds only to gain them back. Diet frozen dinners did not help either. I even did juicing. Well I learned a lot a long the way and decided to (again) try to do what's needed to be for WLS date. Biggest thing is honest to self, and everything else followed. It still was not easy but I accepted they situation and things I had to change. Change is good. There is never a normal, just you. We do not fit into boxes. We are unique, a pleasantly so. Meals are like snacks, since food is not the party in the mouth. Food to live only. I got lost of energy. Life is a constant struggle... that's life. Life was good before and has gotten better help, so you could debate on it too. I keep tight to faith to move forward and just be grateful to have the courage to change for the better. Remember if you really want it you can... I did. It's waiting for you too.

VS? reflux yup. Lactose problem... I had GERD pre-op and with post RNY... nothing. I wanted VS but wanted to not have GERD, so I voted for RNY. Be careful, and take care.

I am 10 years post op RNY and having the same issues. Doc ordered a CT scan ,,,checking for a condition that occurs after about ten years..you might mention it to your doc. Google it yourself and send it to him,,thats what I did as he had never heard of it. Intussusception after Laparoscopic Gastric Bypass Surgery

my close friend had surgery to correct this recently,,she is 11 years post op.

Have that pain checked out ASAP. I have the same pain and am having a CT scan done for a possible Intussusception after Laparoscopic Gastric Bypass Surgery. Google it,,,my friend had the same surgery and ten years later had to have another for the above condition, and her doctor told her its becoming common for people ten years out from RNY. Its where your intestine telescopes into itself,,can cause a blockage and can be fatal. Easy correct tho if caught in time. they will redo the surgery.

A friend of mine just past ten years out had this, just had surgery to repair it. She said her doctor said this is almost common now after about 9 years out. I am having the same symptoms and am going for a ct scan this week. I will post what we find out.

If I am not mistaken, RNY is still the "gold standard" of weight loss surgery.

Yes we CAN! 182 for me this morning. Logging my food has a lot to do with it! And while I can't run because of knee problems, I think I'll try jogging laps in the pool at the gym to see how that goes. Friend of mine is a trainer and says "you can do impossible things in the water!"

My other workout challenge is the work schedule. I start early and at the end of the day it would take a stick of dynamite to get me thru the door of the gym. I guess that's gotta change.
