Hi Everyone
Nothing inspires us more than scanning through before and afters photos. When I was considering my surgery once I got through viewing the before and afters I believed I could do this. Whenever I had doubts I would view the before and afters and came away saying "YES I CAN"!
Please share Your Journey with us and submit your before and after photos. Be sure and sign and fax in the photo permission form so we can share them on our blogs and articles.
If you are a VET, we would love to update your before and afters

I am only over two years out and when I start to gain I back off of the portion size... I believe that my pouch does expand but it also shrinks because when I do back off then eventually the portion sizes tend to fill me up faster. Just regulate and you should begin to lose again. Also don't go for seconds and try not to eat more than a little less than the size of your fist... You may be hungry but over time it should fill you up faster...
I love to bake too, but I try to bake things where I can use Stevia or other sweetener. I volunteer to bake for events at church where I'm not left with a big pan of goodies. I have a number of bariatric recipes using almond flour. Bariatricfoodie.com has some good recipes as well as the worldaccordingtoeggface.com.
Ask yourself which do you want the most......to eat the foods that are adding pounds to your body or give those up for a healthier you. Finding recipes you like that are healthy for bariatric patients should help you.
Going back to basics would be doing what you did right after surgery. To detox myself of carbs, I will have 3-4 shakes all day then eat a meal like chicken and green beans. If you still have the material you were given after surgery, re-read it. Look at the menus posted on various boards. The RNY board has daily menus posted by members.

I am about 8 yrs out from my RNY and was wondering how much I should be able to consume at any one time. If I was to drink a protein shake for breakfast, how much should I be able to drink? If I was to eat a meal, how much should I be able to eat? I know that the pouch stretches over time, but I have began to regain and I'm wondering if I am overconsuming. I honestly don't feel as if I am ever "full."
Apologies for the stupid questions, but what is the LCHF diet and what are you referring to when you say LNS?
thanks to both of you. how do i go back to basics? its been so long. i do need to cut out carbs. i love carbs. my big problem is i love to bake, i dont know how to stop baking and eating it.i figured out i need to lose 62 pounds..

My surgery was in 2008. I gained about 12 lbs. over the last year. I have lost 5.2 lbs. by cutting out carbs. It's the only way I will lose. When I eat carbs, I want to eat all day. I always have one protein shake a day and sometimes two. I've gone back to having protein coffee. In the beginning, I had protein coffee every day, but tired of it.
Get back to the basics and you will lose the weight.
