Glad you are here with us Deb. I'm teetering onto 280 and know I need wls surgery, but my mind has not agreed with my body's need to be healthy, go figure, somehow I can't pull the two together. I also don't know how much more I can take with the heavy feeling of my body each day and not being able to sleep at night on account of my massive parts needing to get comfortable.
And I realize now I have sleep apnea...I awakened to find myself gasping for breathe when I fell asleep on the chaise lounge. It's not flat like my bed and so my meat from my necks collasped onto the fleshy part of my chest and I guess my body's need for life forced me to wake up and breath.
I like what you said about "It's time for me to work on food and exercise again. I have absolutely no remorse or regret for the weight gain. I did what I did to survive. I got through hellish times but I did not shame myself. I never will. Time to be mindful."
Thank you.
Hi Deb. I'm sorry you've been through so much, but I'm glad to see you getting back on track. I don't know you from back in the day, but all of these mean *****es think really well of you. That's a pretty great endorsement. Please stick around, it will be wonderful to have you here.

Hi Deb --
I don't think we've ever met, but your grief story touched a nerve. After I lost my wonderful father, I gained up to 360 lbs (my highest weight ever) --- and frankly, I really had no other coping devices at the time.
I am just so sorry for the loss of your mother and sister. Truly and heartfully sorry.
Hope to get to know you better.

Hi, Deb, I think I remember you from when I was first on OH investigating surgery about the time you had yours. Welcome back. I'm glad you are here and it sounds like you're taking steps needed.
A question - my brother in law is morbidly obese, in desperate need of surgery, and his kidneys are now having issues.
What sort of things did you need to do differently as a patient with renal issues? We're trying to help guide him and it would be helpful to know the sort of things that we need to be aware of.

You came back to the right place. I am so sorry for what you have been through. I can't imagine. You were very brave to come back here and share your story.
Thank you and best wishes to you.
Is is so good to see you again, Deb!! I am truly sorry to hear about all of the various kinds of losses you are dealing with, though. That is a tremendous amount of emotional upheaval and, as you said, sometimes it is just about making it through to the other side of the grief however you can.
We are still here for you! Let us know how we can help.

You don't drown by falling in the water. You drown by staying there.
Thankfully my kids do not have issues with weight, either. Katie is never interested in eating and Sarah eats everything in sight but seems to have an amazing metabolism. She makes all of us jealous.
Katie will not let me take her picture, either, now that you mention it...lol. Here is one of me and Sarah yesterday. she is still a momma's girl
Deciding to become a mom was my best decision, too. They are my heart!!

Yup your daughter sounds like my son. I looked on my phone for a picture and realized that the newest one I have is a year old. He is beyond grumpy about getting his picture taken but I'll get one of the sly.
He's a swimmer. On a team and swims 2 hours a day. It really helps to take the attitude out. And boy can he eat! Some days it never ends. The weird thing about him is that he won't eat if he's not hungry. In that way he is NOT like his mother.
Being a mother is the best thing I ever did though.
