I had a blood panel done. My ALT and AST were high. Any suggestions. I am going to send the results to my surgeon and see what he has to say. Rhonda 312/166/155?

Those tests have to do with liver enzymes. Sandy

I am over two years out and have yet to have my AST and ALT in normal range. Some contibutors to causing the numbers to be high can be: tylenol, Robitussen, anti-fungal medications, etc. Taking milk thistle can possibly help bring the numbers down. I take it 3 times a day and I am very careful with what drugs I am taking as well. I will be doing my next set of 12+ vials of blood labs later this month to see how I am progressing towards normal. Basically, I read labels on all medications and if they have liver warnings I know to be careful. I believe that fatty liver can also cause the numbers to be high, plus a variety of other things. Your doctor will possibly want to do an ultrasound to look for any abnormalities. Sandy
