Too much Passover food.

I was doing great for almost two weeks until Passover came along. I was the chef for the seders and ended up eating way too much as I visited family. I'm home now, and I'm having trouble getting back on track. It's so difficult to retrain myself to eat only very small portions and not eat between meals. I have to increase my fluids again, too. Anyone else in a bind because of Passover or Easter overeating? Nancy

Nancy, Sad thing is I struggle with this everyday. I can always find an excuse to "snack" or "overeat". I will do good for a week or two and then I'll increase my between meal snacking again and do that for a few days until I reign it back under control. But yes, Easter and the candy it brings is a temptation. I'm just doing the best I can to enjoy a little bit of it in moderation and working out extra to afford myself a little treat here and there. You can do it, Nancy. Just remind yourself where you came from. Something that helps me, and I mean NOTHING by this, is going to Walmart or some other public place and looking at all the overweight people. I see some of them struggle to walk, or others pulling self-consciously at their clothes, and I remember that I was there and that I never want to return. Find something that motivates you to do good. Best wishes! Lily

Nancy, You are not alone! Like Lily posted I struggle every day. It's nice to have the control or get the control back, but it's very hard to do. Remember it's mostly in your mind, think to yourself, do I really need this food or snack? You can go back, you were doing good for two weeks, we all slip up, just pick yourself up and start fresh. You can overcome this. Amy
