4/9/01--five years PO!!
Wow, the day went by yesterday and I forgot about it. And that kinda tells the story of this life. I try to look in and "see" what's up with everyone--but I'm not always around a computer. Yesterday worked outside, visited my parents--cooked them dinner- (hubby & kid there too)
Huh, 5 years ago wouldn't have had the energy to even do one of those things! So I'm doing good-feel great. I've maintained my loss for 4 years, (had hernias repaired & TT in 2002). For me it's become the way I live. It's not that I "think" about it or not. When I eat, I stay within my own rules. Perfect?-not always. But my insides definately let me know when the wrong choice was made. Yes, it's a part of who I am, but it is not the only thing that defines me. Good choice, good life. Have a great Day, Bek
Hi Bek. I read your profile. Congratulations on you success so far and best of luck to you for future success! 5 years is a long time. Tell me, do you still think of your surgery on a daily basis? I'm 20 months postop and it's still the first thing on my mind when I wake up in the morning.
Cathy
P.S. We have an African grey also, she's such a smarty pants!
Bek: I read your profile update - awesome! So glad you shared this here. You have done so great, both with losing and maintaining! Only thing I'm jealous of is that I never have had dumping - and now wish I had never tried to see whether I did or not! Sweets can still be a big issue in my life - it would be great to have that natural aversion therapy!
Keep on living the good life, it's wonderful to hear about it!

Congratulations Bek. I hope you will be able to post this same type post at year 20. By then maybe we will be so old that we'll just lose naturally like a lot of elderly people.......grin.
Like you I will never be skinny, but I'm below where my doctor set my goal, healthy for the first time in years and running non stop. My friends tell me I'm like the energizer bunny, but heck I have a lot of catching up to do. At 27 months I'm still nervous about the bounce back, but I work every day to make sure it doesn't happen to me. Hopefully with good eating habits and plenty of exercise I will be able to do a similar post at my 5 yr mark.
Have a great day and keep making those good choices.
