Hey Everyone I hope your day was fantastic as it was here in Chicago land, we saw sun Yep, it's rare I was a stress eater my entire life, that is how I got to 330 pounds. Well, I find now when I am stressed I can't eat If I try to get something down I I must be stressing but I don't feel I am, as I have not been able to keep food down. I am having PS in 5 days and it must have to do with that..I have lost 4 lbs and can't afford anymore loss... Question: Now that you have had WLS, how does your pouch react to stress? The same, opposite as mind does or maybe life is so good you don't stress Thanks for your input Take care, Kathy 330/114 PS - April 14th

Hi Kathy, I to was a stress eater pre-op. I've had a couple of instances of stress post-op and I lose my hunger, but make myself eat something or at a minimum a protein shake. I have a pouch of steal, nothing has caused me problems. Take care of yourself, gosh lady, 114 wow that's super tiny. Dana

Hi Dana, I posted this on the main board also and it's seems this is something everyone experiences. Wow, very interesting Yea, I am concerned since I will lose the weight of the skin. I had gotten up to 126-128 and was feeling good about it and I just don't get it I really am not stressing as in scared, nervous and anything...It must be inside I am going to call my PCP for some drugs Take care Dana as you have just done a great job and I am so proud of you Kathy

Good luck on the PS Kathy! Stree - yes! My pouch requires two doses of Prilosec a day, just like my old stomach did (just a family thing I guess) and I certainly do have times way more now than pre-op where I can't eat at all! I try to keep up on fluids during those times. That having been said, I don't seem to have any difficulty making up for those times - fighting 20=30lb regain! Life is good, and post-op life if great! Hi Kathy, I'm not sure I could say I was a stress eater pre-op, but I do find that I can't eat as much as what my new normal capacity is when I'm stressed--I can only eat about half as much and them I'm stuffed. However, my concern for you is that PS is stressful on the body to say nothing of the emotions, and you need good nutrition and protein to heal properly. I read on your profile that you had some healing issues after WLS. I assume you have to have a pre-op physical with your PCP before PS. I hope you will discuss the fact that you're continuing to lose weight before you go through with the scheduled surgery. Your life is too precious to take unnecessary chances. Good luck and good health. Anewme

I had a problem with eating during the time my mom's body was shutting down before she died. I talked to my group about it and someone suggested doing deep breating exercising before eating. I tried it and was amazed that I could eat with no problem. Basically you just take a deep breath, count to 10 as you slowly exhale. Do that 5-10 times. Somehow it relaxes you and makes it possible to eat again. Hope this helps you as much as it did me. Best of luck on the plastic surgery. I had a tummy tuck and upper body lift last October. It was so much easier than I'd anticipated. I was back at work on day 10.

I always was a stress eatter . . . its a rare occasion that I'm not hungry. Thankfully I've always had a cast iron stomach (pouch) so its a rare occasion that I'm sick.
