What are those 16's doing in my cart?

Hi everyone, I will be three years out in May and lost 125 in the first year and stopped. I generally love every minute of my new life. I exercise 2x weekly with my spining class and play tennis 2x a week. When I realized that all my clothes did not shrink in the wash and I had gained 15 pounds, I tamed the carb monster and lost 5 pounds this month. However, I am going on vacation next week and need some shorts. I can wear my 14 capris and should be back into my 12s for summer but my 14 shorts do not have a generous cut. Here's my delima... Do I buy a couple pair of 16s for the trip and banish them to the back of my closet when I return? After wearing a 24 for years and reaching the wonderful regular sized world, I swore never to see the inside of anything larger than a 14 again. Do I make an exception for the trip and use this as a learning experience or do I wear the capris all week?

Wear capris all week.... Your vacation will be here and gone before you know it... Capris are comfortable and there's no sense in getting mentally comfortable with a size 16! Have a great vacation and come on back ready to get to work! Take care!! Denise 326/220/170 -106 50 lbs from Drs goal 20 lbs from mini goal of 200 by July 6! PS -- As you can see... I've got lots of work to do to!!!

You know yourself. I have done similar things... I have found if I make the exception and "wear the 16's" that I tend to wear them again.... HOWEVER... I also swore I would NEVER wear a size 16 EVER and ultimately had to purchase in the 20's prior to surgery. So, do what you need to do. You might try a resell shop to reduce the cost associated with purchasing a 16... Best Fit = Best Look

Check out Goodwill. Never know what you might find for really cheap. Be comfortable. It is what it is. How much are a pair of inexpensive shorts, anyway? Most of all, relax and have a good time. Stay on your program. That's where I would make no exceptions for vacation, your eating program. tee
