Zelnorm anyone?
Thanks, Wendy! I'm glad to hear that the Zelnorm isn't causing you any problems. That makes me feel better about asking my doc if I can try it. A little extra gas won't bother me - it's a good trade-off if I can get this issue resolved, or at least make it better.
As I mentioned above, I recently increased the amount of iron I'm taking, and I'm pretty sure that has made the constipation problem even worse. But I don't want to sacrifice the iron, either. I don't know what you're using, but I have always used "Tender Iron" from vitalady.com. I think it's a great product, but unfortunately, all iron can make the constipation worse, I guess.
Did you/do you have any other symptoms with the IBS? I don't have any pain to speak of, which I'm thankful for, just the bloating and discomfort when I get really backed up.
Thanks again for responding.
Carlita
Hey Carlita,
As far as any other symptoms, just the basics, bloating, pain and constipation.. really hard to move .. I even had my annual GYN appt, and the doc always does the rectal .. and his comment was "boy, you aint a kiddin"..regarding constipation.. made me feel odd LMAO
Talk to your doc, its definite worth a shot!
Wendy
There is a prescription powder called Mira-lax and it has a generic. It is a ground up poly glycol the pulls water into the colon. It isn't a stimulate so you can use it every day. I mix it with water and down the hatch. Works well. I take it almost every day and have for almost 2 years. It has no taste. Wonderful stuff.
I have shared my secret with a few friends (who laughed-at first)
FRESH pineapple. I have no clue why this works when everything else fails, but it has in so many it makes me wonder why more don't know about it.
Anyway, FRESH (not formerly cut into) pineapple. A few slices in the evening and you may be right the very next morning. Good luck. Hope it works as well for you.
