I have l lost 120 give or take a few here and there. Gaining 4-5 pounds don't bug me because all people do this. What I am wondering is this. I have never really drank all the water I should have. As a matter of fact I really haven't made the water thing or the exersize this a big issue for myself. I still lost my weight and maintaining for the most part. If I were to start drinking water like everyone else does will I start to lose weight again? My reason for wanting to drink more water now is to stop feeling hungry all the time. I could and have grazed all day long and now I am searching for other ways to break the habit of grazing. But at the same time I don't want to lose any more then 5 pounds. I think my weight is fine. I just want to stop bad habits from forming. I like water but can only drink it is it is flavored because I gulp normal water and then I get a stomach ache. So flavored water is fine for me. What do you guys think? If I up the water intake will I start to lose again? Thanks in advance. Huggs

Hi Wendy, Drinking more water is always a good idea. It may help restart weight loss, but I am not sure.

One thing that I keep hearing is we often misread our "thirsty" signal for "hungry" instead. So try having a glass of something to drink every time you get that hungry signal and see if it isn't really just thirst. Michele

Wendy: I rarely drink all the water I should, either. Lots of folks I know, post-ops and non-WLS as well, all seem to feel that drinking at least 8 glasses a day is essential for weight loss. To be honest, I never felt that way about it, and there have been times in my past when I was doing a great job dieting (of course it always came back). So I guess this is an individual thing, like a lot of other food and eating issues are. I guess it's worth a try though, huh? As for the exercise, I'm with you there, too. I've never done regular exercise since my WLS, and have been maintaining reasonably well. I have to say, though, that I'm finding it more difficult to maintain with just controlling food intake, so I may have to get off my butt and start doing some regular exercise! Best wishes. Carlita
