Fat for a day

Absolutey NOT! The other day I was talking to a co-worker who weighs in at 105. I've lost more that she weighs! I used to carry that much plus some around all day long! I certainly couldn't carry her around! I will never forget. I kept my "big" jeans and get them out once in while. I still marvel that it's me in the mirror. I have become very vain. I look in the mirror, the elevator doors at work, store windows. I continue to be amazed that it's really me. Part of me still thinks I'm fat. I think I can't walk between racks of clothes in stores or other small spots. But I can. I will NEVER go back. EVER!

At a bariatric support group meeting a few months ago my bariatric surgeon had a backpack filled with 100 pounds of steel. He had help putting it onto his back and attempted to walk with it. Within only a few minutes he started to sweat and had trouble breathing. He said by adding that 100 extra pounds he was morbidly obese. He did it just to feel how we feel and was amazed by the results. I've often wanted to put on a suit with 155 pounds (which is how much I lost). To think I couldn't even lift that much weight now but I used to carry that much extra around. My husband found a program that he downloaded to make a lifesize fat picture of me. It's standing in my sewing room and every now and then I pull her out.....she's scary.....but a great reminder of who I used to be. Take Care, Terry
