Feeling Depressed and FAT!

This past week I have been feeling bloated and FAT! I had an appointment with my WLsurgeon last Friday and gained 2 lbs since my last visit, but not too depressed over that because it was a morning appointment last time and a late afternoon appointment this time. What I am feeling depressed about is the fact that I feel like I am always hungry. Today I ate: B- 1 cup multigrain cheerios and 1/4 c of 1% milk S- 2 string cheeses L-shrimp salad on a plate with tomatoes S- BAD Choice--Pringles later on I had a protein shake made with Skim Plus D-2 fish sticks and 1/4 c of mac and cheese 68 oz of water The scale does not show it but I feel like I look like I am putting on some weight. Everyone tells me I look the same and don't look like I am gaining and that I look great but I feel like I look like I did before WLS as well as that real bloated feeling. Is this a normal feeling??? The other night I had a dream that I GAINED ALL MY PRE OP WEIGHT BACK...Woke up in a panic and then releived it was just a bad dream, but since then I have been feeling the way I do physically and mentally. Hi Marianne, two things: (1) possibly the bloated feeling is from the high salt foods (Pringles and mac & cheese) and (2) eating the "white carbs" (the same Pringles and Macaroni) in my case tends to make me crave more white carbs. For me, if I have more protein and less carbs I'm less hungry. Certainly a two pound gain is nothing to worry about, you can easily fluctuate that much normally or with monthly issues. I still have "food issues" that I work with a psychologist on. It helps. I, too have a fear that I will regain my weight. You're not alone, come vent to us anytime. Hugs, Connie -147#

You may be feeling hungry more often due to the carbs in your diet...Cheerios, Pringles, mac & cheese...and you may need to drink more fluids. Often, thirst can be confused with hunger. ~~Sherry

If I ate that little I would be passed out from hunger. I think your mind is playing games with you on feeling like you are gaining. I think the dream may have triggered some insecurities like we all face on a regular basis. My average eating day is 1500-1700 clories, But I exercise like crazy. When I was slacking for 6 weeks after plastics I did gain 3 pounds but it will be history now that I am back to the gym. I refuse to give up. overall I eat at least 6 oz meat/fish, 3 servings of dairy, at least 2-3 veggies, (1/2 c cooked or 1 cup raw per serving) 2 pieces of fruit and 2-3 servings of (whole grain) bread/cereal type foods. I generally have a sf jello, sf ice cream etc for a treat I AM 3 1/2 years out so my needs may vary, I exercise daily and that burns a lot. But if I dont eat well I don't feel well. If I skip meals or dont eat enough I end up eating crap food.

No face lift, (yet) but wouldn't rule it out in the future. The other pic was just not that good of a pic. My weight redisributed some, and the other pic was shortly after having an emergency hernia repair and bowel obstruction so I was not at my best. I wanted a pic that was on my 1 year anniversary at the time I posted the old one, but I liked this pic better. I also changed my hairdo a litttle bit. this one looks more like me now. If you look on my profile you can see I have been thru a lot of changes in appearance. thanks for the compliment !!!!
