Eating & sleeping after facial ps??? (Cross-post)
Vickie, I ordered one of those, but didn't really need it. My surgeon gave me one, and that was all I needed. It was just an elastic strap that went under the chin and around over the crown of my head. He said I didn't have to wear it while I slept, so I rinsed it out at night and by morning it was dry.

Thanks for the info! I think I'll wait and see if my surgeon provides me with one and/or if I need a 2nd one. I've read that you need to wear them 24/7 after a chin implant, but don't know what my surgeon's procedure is. Guess I'll find out when I go for pre-op the day before my surgery.
Thanks again!

Vickie, I dont know anything about anything facial, but, the company I bought all my compression garments from (www.homerecovery.com) had a ton of post-op things for people having face surgery. Check it out. GOOD LUCK~!
Thanks for the tip! I'll check it out.
I'll be having my LBL in June so let me ask you about compression garments... Did your surgeon provide a garment for you or did you have to order it before your surgery? How do you know what size to order? How pricey are they? Would you recommend buying a 2nd garment so you have a clean one to change into?
Enquiring minds want to know!! Thanks!

My PS ordered me a binder and I woke up in recovery with it on. It was included in the overall cost. I am 11 days post LBL and wearing it right now. I recommend asking your PS to order you two if they provide them, because the cleaning instructions on mine are hand wash, line dry no excessive heat.
I waited till day 4 to wa**** because I was afraid to be with out it for more than the time it took to shower. When I finally washed it and let it dry outside it took several hours. The recovery nurse recommended spanex shorts to help as well, that might be a cheaper options to wear for the few hours it dries.
The measurements they used for the binder were my hips and my waist, which I had from the gym a week earlier. As for the spandex shorts keep in mind you will have drains coming out of odd areas..mine are in front hips and mons so go a size larger so you dont cut off your circularion, allow for swelling, and dont pinch the tbing into your skin.

amazingly enough...I brought a highwaisted,mid-thigh girdle from Walmart to my PS to see if it was good for compression and my surgeon it would be fine..so I bought another one. I wore them for a couple weeks but have had to buy smaller ones as my body shrinks.. which is pretty cool. I'm a month out and I hope I just have to wear them for a couple more weeks, especially since the DH is due home about then.
