New Body = New Job?

I have an interview tomorrow for a big job.. the biggest in my life to date... I am nervous and confused. Part of me wants the job because of the money... the other part is scared I'll mess it up. My current job is okay, but I do get kicked around quite a bit... public service.... plus I'm a white girl working on an Indian reservation... there is some flack about that.... it's something I used to tolerate and could probably keep doing it for several years.... Actually the new job is public service too... just lots of staff to help, working with City government as opposed to Tribal govt., and a lot more responsibility. Part of me wants a new challenge... the part that is scared is the old fat Laurie... I think.... I'm gonna play this out to the end... maybe they won't even offer me the job.... and if they do? I'll probably take it .... It's like I have lost 176 pounds, getting a tummy tuck later this month and have paid for it out of my pocket... I'm broke and need new clothes!!! Seriously, it seems a new job would be in order..... even if it's a job that will challenge me beyond any challenge I have ever had.... Any advise you old timers..... should I jump this nest and fly or stay where it's safe... I can't believe I'm even asking.... Laurie - minus 176 lbs!!

Play it out. 3 months into my surgery I picked up the slack for a missing co-worker, and ended up with a higher paying job. Good luck I hope it all works out for you.

GO . . . FOR . . . IT!!!! You have made such a big change in your life already; you can definitely do this too! When I was in my early 40's, I went back to school for my master's degree in guidance & counseling (I was a h.s. English teacher). When it came time to interview for a job in school counseling, I was nearly paralyzed w/ fear (not just for the interviewing process, but also for the whole idea of change)! I had interviews for 3 different jobs and ended up with the perfect job for me, counseling in a h.s. Best thing I ever did for myself, other than my wls! I hope you get the offer! And if you make the change, remember that there will be a significant amount of stress, but stress can be positive, and it will take awhile to adjust. By all means, let us know what happens; we'll be waiting to hear! Best wishes! Jo 295/150ish (at goal)

Thanks Jo...you're right... change is really hard!! Thanks for sharing and reminding me that I have come thru a huge change with the wls and this is just one more part of my life.... The interview is today.... I even went out and bought a business suit for the occasion.... first time in my life I could pick a normal size off the clearance rack and it fit perfectly...... There's my sign...... Thanks again... Laurie - minus 176 lbs!!
