I hate yogurt . . .
Curiousity here... How will making yourself eat something you hate keep you from gaining weight? Does it have to do with hating breakfast foods so you skip breakfast, etc... Just wondering. I personally don't care that much for yogurt either, but never thought that making myself eat it would keep me from gaining weight. Hopefully, I am not offending anyone, just wondering. Dawna
Dawna - Good question. My post was misleading because I didn't finish my thought. It's not that I think eating yogurt will keep me from gaining. It's that eating yogurt will keep me from eating things that will make me gain. Lately I've been finding my caloric intake creep closer and closer to 2000. But I'm not through losing yet and I have been trying to keep my calories around 1200 again. I had allowed some unhealthy snacks back into my diet and am trying to replace them with healthier options. So many people on here rave about yogurt . . I just hate it.
Now I understand your reasoning here. If hunger is becoming more of an issue, though, I don't think yogurt will do much for you, since it just "slides" right through the pouch anyway. Some things that I have found helpful and that don't do much caloric damage are soy nuts, jerky, string cheese, and a few protein bars that I like (although these are a little higher calorie). You might do better to stick with denser protein snacks to help keep your calorie count down while filling you up at the same time. Best wishes. It's tough as we get further out, huh? I have been trying to watch more myself, as my weight has creeped up about 10 pounds from where I really liked it to be.
To kinda piggy back on what Dawna said, if you are gaining they why eat yogurt, especially if you don't like it? Why no try something that is the same calories but will actually fill you more and stick with you? Yogurt goes right through me, I could eat 100 and not feel full, so I don't even bother.

Same question here, Lily. Why are you eating something you hate? I also don't like yogurt (except on very rare occasions, I might get a craving for peach or vanilla, but very rare). Are you thinking about the calcium benefits of it? I, too, don't understand what it is about yogurt that will make you lose weight. I'm not flaming at all, just curious.

It does have great calcium benefits. My husband says it's a good healthy food. My trainer said the same thing. My trainer told me that I might have to acquire a taste for some more healthier options than fat free pringles and weigh****chers ice cream. Thus the yogurt delima. I want to be good and lose weight. I just needed some suggestions on how to make it more yummy.
I like vanilla, or strawberry bannana. I add cottage cheese, or fruits.
Don't like yogurt? Don't like cottage cheese? Have you tried Ricota? By it self yeck, but spruced up yum.
I buy the FF I think, which ever one is about 45 calories for 1/4 cup. I fix a 1/2 cup with 2 packs of splenda and either a tablespoon of sf jam or a few teaspoons of sf pudding powder..any flavor. You can even add fruit once you've sweetened it to taste.
It's a thicker texture than yogurt, its not chunky like cottage cheese.
I agree with the others, why eat it if you do not like it.
You can make a package sf pudding with carb countdown milk and a scoop of unflavored protein powder for just as much protein/calcium/calorie count and enjoy it more.
good luck
