What's Your Caloric Intake?

Hi, Lily. I'm 2-1/2 years out from RNY proximal. I lost down to a low of 160, and have bounced back up to about 178, and have been maintaining there for a while. I'm not much of a calorie counter, but do check in on fitday occasionally just to keep a handle on things. I average around 1900 calories a day, and realize that if I wanted to lose again, I would have to probably go down to about 1500. I need to be focusing on this right now, as I'd like to get back to 170 and stay there. 160 was too thin for me, but 170 felt really great, plus all the clothes I bought at that weight are slightly snug right now! LOL As much as I hate to admit it, I agree with the other posters that we would have to decrease our daily calories. I still could pull out the "exercise" card and play it, and that might help me. (Please don't bash me - I have never really exercised regularly since right after surgery, although I did do my walking as required.) Being one who hates exercise, this seems to be a monumental task for me. I actually did better with exercise when I was fat, as I felt I "had" to do it, or my weight would have gone totally off the charts. Once I lost after WLS, it didn't seem "necessary" anymore if you know what I mean. I realize of course that isn't true, and we all need to exercise, but making myself do it is another story. I'm sorry I don't have any better advice for you. I have heard some folks say that they "shock" their bodies into starting to lose again by doing several days to a week of liquid protein, or the diet very similar to what we started out with as newbies. So far, I haven't found the "guts" to do it. Best wishes to you. Let us know if you find what works.
