Ok, I wrote a week or so back and said that I was freaking out because even though I hadn't changed anything I was doing, my weight was going up. I got several wonderful responses and suggestions and tried to not worry. I have tried to be a good girl and eat my three meals a day and stick with what I know I am suppose to do. My problem is that my weight is STILL going up!!!! Someone had asked if I am getting enough water in.......I drink over a gallon a day so I don't think that is the problem. I am not over eating. Someone had said maybe I wasn't eating enough so I have made sure I get in around 1200-1500 calories a day by eating a protein bar for breakfast, chicken & string cheese for lunch and then a bit of whatever the family is having for supper. Does this help??? NOOOOO!! My scales have gone up another two pounds!!! I do not see how it is possible!! I have gone from 137 to 150.5 this morning and I am about ready to pull my hair out!!! My mind is screaming "STOP EATING, STOP EATING!!" and everyone around me is saying "EAT, EAT, YOU HAVE TO EAT!" and I am so confused I don't know what to do. I am upset, depressed, etc., etc. I feel so fat I haven't worn anything but sweat pants and t-shirts for the last two weeks. What could be going on??? What can I do to stop this/reverse this??? I don't want to keep gaining!! I am so scared I am going to be back up to the 375 pounds that I was that it makes me sick. To top matters of, my monthly visitor didn't show up either. Today is day 50. I know, too much information for the guys but it is the truth! Before anybody say "AHAA, YOUR PREGNANT", that is a non-possability. My hubby had spinal fusion surgery so that should explain the non-possability part. When I say no possiabilty, I mean NO possability. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated because I am about to go into mental melt down over here. I do have an appointment with my Gyno on the 28th. PLEASE HELP ME!!! Sandi

I was going to recommend an appointment with the gynecologist, but I see you've already been proactive there. It could be related. Definitely need to check what's going on down there and hopefully it's something that can be controlled (i.e., hormonal) and get your weight issue on track again. Good luck! Angie

Wow, Sandi. You must be really frustrated here. I'm so sorry this is happening to you. I don't have any good advice really, just that perhaps you should contact your doc and see what advice he/she (or a nutritionist) would give. Do you exercise regularly? I'm not one to do exercise, but I have reached a point where I know I'm going to have to if I want my weight to stay down. My lowest post-op weight was 160, and I'm at 180 now. Perhaps this is just your "bounce-back" weight gain. All the docs in my surgeon's practice have stressed to their patients that it is totally normal to have some bounce-back regain. So even though I'm not completely happy with the 180, I think I can accept it as long as I don't go any higher. So it's time to pull out the "exercise card" and play that, and see what happens. Truly, I would love to return to 170, so I'll see if making the needed changes will get me there. I think it's also good that you're going to see your gyno, and get all those things checked out. There are many factors that can influence weight gain and inability to lose, so you owe it to yourself to check out all of them. Your food regimen certainly seems like a good one. Are you eating enough variety though? Your post didn't really mention that. Sometimes I think it really helps to change up what we eat, and try some different foods, but perhaps you've already done that. Anyway, best wishes to you. Let us know how it all goes.

Get some blood work done. It could be many things. My first thought was hypothyroid but I don't recall that it makes you gain that much so fast though.

Sandi, I think you may have it with the trip to your Gyn-Doc. Missed monthly? Hormone problem? Age yet? My wife had some weight gain during early menopause. With the cycle skip in connection to the gain I think you may have the answer in Hormones. Keep us up dated with share-able info. Best Wishes- Dx
