I don't know about your medical issues, Leona, but I hope you will continue to search for those answers. Having pain is never a good thing! I can tell you that a couple of time since surgery I have had stomach pain that did go through to my back also, and I suspected the gall bladder issue. My doc had me go on Prilosec both times this happened, and I took it for about 2-3 months, then stopped. It worked both times I did this to eliminate the pain (doc thought it was probably ulcer-related). Anyway, I haven't had the issue come back again for a while. As for the weight gain, I have seen a bunch of posts here and on other sites that mention the dreaded "3-year mark" as being when you really start to notice a sturggle with keeping the weight down. And my doc also told me that having some re-gain is normal for just about everyone. I realize that doesn't make you feel any better about gaining, but just so you know you really aren't alone.

How about a thyroid test? That probably wouldn't explain the pain, but possibly the weight gain and tiredness. Do you have any unexplained edema that could contribute to a serious water weight gain? Have you thought about going to a chiropractor? If the pain doesn't go away, don't let the doctors off the hook; this is not normal and you need help. It's obvious they just haven't checked the "right" thing yet. And don't let them just suggest pain meds; the worse thing to do is hide a potential problem with drugs. GOOD LUCK TO YOU!!! Anewme

If by suddenly you mean you've changed nothing as far as diet and exercise and still put on that weight, I would continue to pursue this until they figure out what is going on. You have pain, that's a sign that something isn't right. Have you been to the gynecologist to see if something's going on there? Good luck, hope it gets figured out soon! Angie
