Hi! I am just about 2 years post op and am starting to gain weight back. Unfortunately I never really diciplined myself and changed my eating habits and now that my stomach has stretched more I can put away too many treats, and tolerate sugar. Is there a limit to the amount of calories we should be taking in? If I keep track it might help me acknowledge when I'm going overboard. I have to get back in control. -=db=-

Hi db... I just had a conversation with my doctor's nurse just yesterday about this. I was advised to eat between 1000 and 1200 calories to lose. Focusing on protein of at least 50 or more grams. Use fitday.com to keep track up what you're eating. Exercise at least 1 hour per day and the weight will come off again. All the best... Denise 326/222/170 -104 52 stubborn lbs to goal!!!

Wow! What a cool website. I have consumed 527 calories today. I bookmarked it and plan to live in there!!! Yes, the excercise is the killer. I don't mind doing it, it's finding the time. -=db=-

hi DB, For exercise, just do what I did, it's really easy way to work your a** off without having to go to the gym.... buy a fixer-upper house!! Just a thought LOL. Good luck on getting back on track. May I suggest shocking your system back to losing and doing a 3 day all liquid protein then going to an all lean protein diet for another week? (I've heard this works to kick stuff back into gear but I've never had the willpower to do it.) Michelle

You can also keep track of your exercise there too. It will compute your basal metabolism to show you what it takes in calories just to keep you alive and everything else you do during the day you can add under exercise so that you can see how many days it will take you to lose the weight!! Very cool! Pat

My doc told me to shoot for 1000-1200 calories by one year out and thereafter. If I exercise more I can eat more but that's my limit for most days. Fitday helps keep me on track and I can see where I need to improve - whether I'm taking in too much food or not exercising enough. I'm 5 years out and have stuck to that 1200 calorie mark pretty much.

Thanks you guys, lots of useful information. I love that fit day site. I have set up a bunch of stuff for myself on that already! I can't believe how kind of bad for you and calorie-rich some of those protein bars are. They are almost as bad as regular candy! I'm down two pounds this morning! -=db=-
