Debbie, Lucky for us your hubby and my wife didn't meet first. What would we have done?!? She makes my life worth living, And a joy. I'm in this for the long haul, (I pray) No matter what course of action I end up taking. Yesterday was just a big pothole, Not a "Road Closed" sign. Thanks for your kind words! Best Wishes- Dx

Darlene, Right now, Atlanta is "leading" in the "Great PS Information Consultation Hunt!" CA is the PS Mecca of the world. If I don't find super folks in Atlanta I may head for an extended stay on the west coast. Best Wishes- Dx

try some bees wax on that rash. No joke, I've used it for years.

La, In furniture, I know it'll keep the drawers from sticking. Who'd have thought it'd keep my "drawers from sticking?" I'll give it a try. Thanks. Best Wishes- Dx

Dx, you are a true joy to read. Did I read that you are a teacher. If so, what grade? My son teaches 7-8 math & science (to really disadvantaged kids *****ally don't want to be there) and I think he is just wonderful with them, such a challenge. With your wit, you must be very effective also (and cute too). My rny surgeon does a tummy tuck that is included in the surgery price after a year out and 100 lbs loss. Unfortunately, he doesn't take Medicare (oh that sounds so old to me) and I never reached the 100 pound qualification, so.... moot point. I will have to go the plastic surgeon route. Marilyn

Marilyn, Thanks for the complements. I do teach. Well, sort of! I'm a University Professor working mostly with grad students. By that time, very little teaching, because they know everything! I just "mentor" and direct their studies. I'm a freelance Scenic Designer in the Theater And I'm the head of the Design program at Ole Miss. I still freelance design across the country and Drag a couple of students out with me as paid Design Assistants On each project. They get a much better sense of How it actually works in the real business Which is very different from a university production. Wow, a Tummy Tuck "included" in the surgery price? How great is that! Best Wishes- Dx

I knew it... behind every great man... there's a great woman.... sounds like you two can overcome any obstacle..... Me and my husband are like that too.... I have no doubt that you will have a flat healthy tummy one day that doesn't bleed or itch.... Wanna bet on who has the most tissue removed... me or you? I'm thinking 15 lbs for me..... now at $10,000... that's $666 per pound... ouch!! Let's not think that way..... ok? Good luck on your search..... Laurie

Hi Dx, I went to my support group and thought of you. We had a presentation by a plastic surgeon who showed us before and afters of many patients one of whom I know very very well...he talked about her at our meeting and told us that she was on coumadin, he said he took her off it about a month prior to surgery and had no problems with her at all, I know to be true because like I said I know this women well. She really needed the surgery due to the amt of skin and infections she was having. He also takes insurance. Problem is he is in El Paso, Texas, but if it was worth it to you to come here I would gladly help you in any way I could. Just in case his name is Sadri Ozan Sozer and the web address for his pratice is elpasoplasticsurgery.com. Good Luck to you, Melissa

Dx, I had many of the same concerns. I have a history of blood clots and had them plus a PE during my RNY Jan 05, as well as other complications (if you are really bored you can read my surgery log in my profile). I had my plastics on 1/25/06. (I had LBL w/muscle tightening, monds lift, extended arms and breast lift.) I went back to work on 2/13. Between my hematologist and PS they set up a plan to work with me. I had to come off coumadin 5 days prior to surgery and start on lovanox shots for 3 days. After surgery I went back on lovanox & coumadin until my blood levels stabalized then off the shots and just back on coumadin. While in the hospital for WLS, after the PE, they inserted a filter in my body to help catch future clots so I will probably be on coumadin for life. I am doing great and had awesome results with the plastics. My plastic surgeon submitted to my insurance co and when I was denied the PS office person highly recommended I appeal. I did a phone appeal on Thursday and had my approval in the mail by Sat. They work well with insurance companies and I did not have a lot of issues with rashes etc. If you are game to come to beautiful upstate NY I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Joshua King for plastics. If I can help in any way please feel free to email me. HUGS Mary
