Protein Powders

I am trying to find small jars of unflavored protein mixes. All I can find are the huge ones and I don't want to waste my money on something I don't like. I am looking for something that I can put in coffee, tea, etc that won't affect the taste much or the thickness. I would love suggestions on how to get all the protein in that is needed while still eating regular foods. Thanks for your thoughts and response to this post. Shelley 304#/181#

Try Unjury it can be purchased on the web and they have sample sizes too. The Vanilla - chocolate and unflavored are very good. 20g per servings yet 90 calories. I'm 4 1/2 years post op and pre-op plastic surgery -- it's what my physician recommends.

Unjury is my favorite. It is the only brand I'll drink! Tom

Shelley, My doc had something new called Beneprotein from the makers of benefiber. I bought 2 little packets and they were 6 grams each of protein and 25 cals. They had no taste and didn't thicken my coffee. I would think you could get it at walmart but I haven't looked there. I drink about 3 cups of coffee a day so that would be 18 grams of protein. FYI the can was $15 at my docs office and was about the same size as a baby powder formula can. Hugs, Bridget

Hello Shelley ~ Here is a link to a post I sent to the VA-board several weeks ago - there are two companies (with toll free numbers) that will send you "free samples" for the asking. http://www.obesityhelp.com/forums/VA/postdetail/35958.html?vc=0 You may want to read a few of the responses first. Several people mentioned how they were able to get a variety of flavors sent to them at no cost. Hopefully the numbers are still working and the samples are still available - like I said the post is a few weeks old. Good luck to you ~ Lei

Unjury is great but you shouldn't put it in hot things. The best I have found is the unflavored brand by Shaklee. You can cook, bake, and put it in hot drinks. I found a rep here in my town who also has had the surgery and that is how I found out about it. For cold things and if you want flavor I would always recommend the Unjury too because it mixes so well. The Shaklee brand mixes right away too though. I bet if you found a distributor you could get some samples. Lori
