Surgeon's pre-op requirements

I know I am a bit late commenting on this, but my doctor made me smile when he said (basically) "I don't require you to do any special diets or require any of my patients to lose weight prior to surgery because lets face it: if you were able to lose weight dieting you wouldn't be here trying to get this surgery, rightt?" He just cautioned us not to pig out and gain weight right before surgery. He was Dr. Appel near Atlanta (since now retired). Kia
