They sure are an expensive habit! I guess as long as I eat them as one of my 6 feedings, and not over and above that, I shouldn't be concerned. (except for my wallet!) The chicken teriyaki I make at home doesn't taste anything at all like the traditional kind. I use a packet of McCormick Chicken Teriyaki Sauce Blend and one pound of boneless/skinless chicken thighs. It's a thin sauce, that in my opinion has NO teriyaki flavor at all, but still tastes awesome. (It only adds 40 calories per 5 oz of meat.) And I much prefer thigh meat over breast any day. Its nice and moist and doesn't fight with my pouch Now then. Please explain Afghani food to me! I don't think I've ever tasted it. Is there something (ethnicly) close to it, that I may be familiar with? *hugs* -me PS: I have stopped stressing over the medical bills. I realized that I have a maximum out of pocket of $2k, so knowing it can't get worse than that is reassuring! Thanks for listening to me! (yet again!)

Yeah on the no stressing!!! I mean, what good does it do? I used to stress over everything - and then I watched my mom die at 49 because she never learned to let things go. She stressed over everything, us kids (we were adults), bills, medical, her job, her husband's job, etc. Did no good...sigh....so I'm learning to breath and just let it gooo. Ok, Afghani food is a lot like Indian food, only not so in-your-face with the spice. Milder. You can't taste curry hehe. It does sometimes tend to be a bit spicy, but like I said, not AS spicy. I got hooked on it by a family that moved to our valley, bought a mini-mart and started offering various ethnic food from thier culture. They are from Pakistan, but have also lived in Afghanistan - so they offered both. Very interesting on the tongue A lot of kabab and rice or flatbread type dishes...easy to make and very tender. Not a lot of 'out-there' ingredients. My fav is a marinade of yogurt, salt, pepper and FRESH garlic - grill the chicken on skewers; serve on warm flatbread, lavash or pita and top with a mixture of chopped tomato, cilantro, onion and lemon - kind of a salsa. Really good with avocado in it too (but you won't find an Afghani recipe calling for THAT lol. Oh and it marinades for about 2 days...VERY moist!

It's good you KNOW they are a trigger and avoid them Yeah you! I can't handle water anymore. The first year I craved it and now I'll tolerate it in a mall if I'm dehydrated lol. Otherwise, if it's not coffee or DP, it's Crystal Light. I sympathise!

Well her is today. 1-2 cheese sticks 2-1 ezekiel cinn. raisin toast with 1 tab. peanut butter 3- 1hard boiled egg and 1 piece of ezekiel sesame toast.(did I happen to mention that I am hooked on ezekiel toast?) 4-1/4 c blueberries and 1/2c yogurt Just can not get into eating. I think that I am so bloated that it presses on my pouch and I fill up reallquick. I had 2 drains taken out yesterday. That was a relief. Walking is just amazing but sitting forward at this computer is a killer. Could you e-mail me your telephone number. I would like to call you if you don't mind the intrusion. If you don't want me to, I will understand and still love ya. Hugs, Betty
